** The Latrobe City CC road race at Yinnar on Sunday September 12 has be cancelled in lieu of a LCCC & Wellington CC Combine on the Saturday September 11 starting @ Heyfield out to Glenmaggie returning to Heyfield via Dawson on the Seaton Rd. Racing commences @ 2.00pm

** Latrobe City CC has three members entered for the up-coming 2010 Scody Cup #1- Lakes Oil Tour of Gippsland starting on July 28 till August 1. The member racing are; Sam Beveridge (Apollo Bicycles), Charles Howlett (search2retain - myteam2) and Jarrod Peachey (SP AusNet). Good luck and good racing fellas.

** Former Melbourne to Warrnambool winner (1972) and Latrobe City CC member Lynton Sedley is recovering well at home after recent open heart surgery. Sedley known to all as Seds discovered a problem after a routine medical check earlier this year, first being told it was a murmur of the heart. However after further investigation through tests it was discovered Seds had a faulty valve in the heart that reduced the flow of blood. Seds is hoping to be back on the bike by years end, so look out when he does he will be twice as good.
** Leongatha CC is hosting a combine on Aug 21st – A Team Time Trial starting @ 2.00pm followed by their club hill climb champs up Mt. Misery (about 3km) at 3.00pm. Looking for teams from Gippsland clubs to participate in the time trial over 20km. Starts at Outtrim Rec Reserve.

The 6-Month licence is an open licence valid until December 31, 2010 and is available in the Elite Men, Elite Women, M23, Masters and J19, J17 and J15 categories. 2010 6-Month Licence Fees*

THE BIG RING........ Saturday & Sunday July 24 & 25 at Victorian Junior Road Championships in Wangaratta saw Latrobe City CC female junior under 19 Shannon McCurley take double Gold. Shannon won the IRTT championship in the time of 24.36.46 on Saturday and the Road Race Championship on Sunday.
Sunday July 18 - Victorian Club Teams Time Trial Championships @ Diggers Rest saw Latrobe City CC strong men in the Masters 135+ absolutely kane the opposition by almost five minutes to bring home gold. The team whose total age was well in-excess of the required total of 135 yrs was made up by Chris Joustra, Dave Shanahan & Jim Timmer-Arends. The teams winning time was 1:07:07:00 just a tick over four & half minutes faster than the 2nd placed team from Brunswick with Caulfield Carnegie filling 3rd place. Well Done fellas
Sunday July 11 Gippsland IRTT Championship @ Stratford - The LCCC brought home four medals with Jarrod Peachey winning the title in 39.07 for the 27kms race against the clock. Masters 4.5 & 6 (17kms) went to Jim Timmer-Arends 23.35 from Dave Shanahan 2nd in 23.50. Men under 19 (17 kms) saw Adam Lancaster take Silver in 26.43. Full detail can be found at Wellington CC
Sunday July 11 Southern Veterans Cycling Club @ Cora-Lyn - Latrobe City CC members bring home some beacon. In A grade Chris Joustra finished 2nd, B grade saw Justin Gravett make it two from two with Colin Aitken finishing 3rd. E grade saw John Taylor and Tunksy and Southern Vets rider John Cox miss the start by several minutes finding themselves chasing to catch the bunch. The trio caught up about two kilometers from Modella, however the early chasing told on the trio as they faded in the closing stages with Taylor finishing 5th, Tunksy 9th.

do well at Casey Fields (Cranbourne) Sunday July 4 with Southern Vets CC
criterium. Ken Whittaker, Justin Gravett & Tunksy all ventured down with
good results. Justin won the 60 minute B grade while Ken took 3rd in the 50
minute E grade race with Tunksy pulling out with one lap to go after chasing
down (with the bunch in on his wheel) a couple of riders that were away for a
several laps.

Members did us proud - In today's final stage 4 at Wonthaggi the club had
some mixed results with Jarrod Peachey taking the first KOM and both
intermediate sprints and 3rd in the stage finish. Chris Joustra took 2nd in the
stage finish after being dropped earlier and fighting hard to get back to the
main bunch for the final stages of the race. Sam Beveridge finished 3rd on GC
and 2nd in the sprint category, Jarrod finished 5th on GC. Next was Danny Gafa 7th, Chris Joustra 12th, Glenn Schoer
13th and Michael Krausz 19th in the A
grade section. The
B grade saw Justin Gravett finish in 5th place on GC followed by Dave Shanahan
6th, James Timmer-Arends 7th, Roland Elsdon 15th, Brett Van Berkel 20th, but
took out the sprint category with 18pts. Duncan Orr finished in 25th
place. C
grade saw Colin Aitken finish in =6th on GC, Adam Lancaster =12th, Dave Redman
=18th, Chris Henne =22nd, Paul King =22 and John Taylor =22nd. The
LCCC finished 3rd in the club teams category with 25 pts. Warragul CC were the
winners with 38 pts from Leongatha on 35 pts. Full results can be found
